The Fall
Too young to go into the cold.
Too young to leave this house.
Only nineteen and so much live to be lived.
I never knew you, but I wish I had.
It's been said I loved you before I came around.
I know you love me great.
I know you still do.
Not a day goes by that she doesn't think of you.
She's told me I look just like you.
I have your eyes, your nose, your mischievous ways.
I mended her heart when you went away.
I was a miracle to everyone.
My heart breaks, I want to be like you.
Free and spirited.
What beautiful years you led.
Everyone adored you.
I adore you. I miss you.
My father's youngest brother.
My uncle.
My favorite uncle even when I was new to this world.
You have a hold on my heart even from Heaven.
Two hummingbirds on my shoulder.
Barely hanging on. Are you proud?
I've let you down.
Why did you leave? You could have led me.
You could have protected me from this hell.
Why didn't you keep me in your arms?
I never cried when I was there.
I was filled with warmth.
I'll be warm again, after these days.
I'll be warm when I'm in Heaven.
I'll be warm when I'm with you.
